Admissions

Admission Guidelines

SALT accepts applicants on the basis of an entrance examination, previous academic performance, and the recommendation of teachers. Normally, SALT accepts qualified students at any level. By enrolling your child in the Elementary, Middle or High School Program, SALT is responsible for creating a curriculum that fits your child’s needs, delivering support in a structured environment, and evaluating the student’s yearly academic progress.

All Students K-12

1. SALT admits students of any race or national and ethnic origin.
2. SALT does not accept students on a month-to-month basis or a one-semester basis.

Student Screening

Student screening administered by SALT staff will be used to assist in determining final group placement. The school’s director will make all final group placement decisions.

High School Applicants

SALT will only accept High School students into our program freshman year. Each year, as space permits, the applications of a select number of sophomore transfers are considered. In general, junior and senior transfers are not accepted. However, individual decisions are made for all applicants. An applicant for admission to the freshman class must have satisfactorily completed the eighth grade or its equivalent. A final, official transcript from a student’s previous school is required before a student can be enrolled in classes.
